What parents need to know about the Weekend School, from the school day and drop-off to how you can support your child through the week.

Weekend School registration generally starts in late July or early August. Classes run from Kindergarten through Grade 8, and a Seerah class is offered for High School students in Grade 9 through Grade 12. Email the school with your name and phone number to be added to the WhatsApp group for school communication.

Email and WhatsApp are our primary channels, with phone alerts for quick reminders. Teachers share a weekly outline of the topics each level is covering, so check your child's binder or ask their teacher for details.

Students come to school with wudu and clothing they can pray salah in. Clothes should be modest and not revealing, and shirts should carry no images of people or animals. Girls bring a scarf, prayer clothes, or abaya that covers properly for salah; boys wear shorts that cover the knees or bring a thobe. Clean socks and good personal hygiene keep our musallah area clean.

Phones stay off or silenced during class, and their use is strongly discouraged during class time. A teacher may hold a phone until the end of class and return it only to a parent or guardian. Inappropriate phone use may result in a fine.

If your child is sick, send a note, email, or message, then pick up any missed work so they are caught up by the next class; unreported absences affect a student's grade. Come prepared with an open mind, a good work ethic, the binder, basic stationery, the monthly planner, and homework done. A separate bag for Weekend School helps.

The day ends with Dhuhr salah, so proper clothing for prayer is required. Teachers will let students know when to help clean up before they leave.
